Meet Neko Reimer, a 17-year-old snowboarding prodigy hailing from the snowy slopes of Rossland, BC. While Rossland is home, Neko splits his time between there and Pemberton, BC, with summers spent chasing snow in the winter wonderland of New Zealand.
When Neko isn't carving up the powder, you can find him cruising on a skateboard or mastering his video game skills 😊 He has been homeschooled since grade 1, giving him the ability to dedicate heaps of time to both his skills on the hill and his studies as a graduate of 2024!
Neko's journey on the board began at the young age of 3 at Red Mountain Resort, igniting a passion that has taken him and his family across Canada, the USA, and New Zealand. Recently, Neko showcased his skills at the Youth Olympics in Korea, where he impressed with a top 10 finish in the finals. But the journey doesn't end there; Neko's sights are set on even greater heights, with dreams of competing in the X Games and representing Canada at the Olympics.
Neko is off now to Italy for the Junior World Championships, where he will be representing Canada among the world's top under-18 snowboarders. “This is the biggest competition of my whole season and it will be my first time ever going to Europe,” stated Neko.
Thanks to Astro Oilfield Rentals' support, Neko has been able to extend his European adventure, taking on additional challenges in the Europa Cup series in both Switzerland and Austria.
Neko is amped and ready to tackle the challenge with determination and a spirit of adventure. Sure, there are nerves about the unknown and the pressure of high-stakes competition, but Neko's mantra remains: stay healthy, take it one contest at a time, and above all, have fun. “I think that if I just try my best and have fun, it will go well and be an absolutely amazing experience!”
We wish Neko all the best as he carves his path to success, inspiring us all to pursue our dreams with passion, perseverance, and a touch of adventure!
